Mojang was founded by Markus Persson, Jakob Porsér, and Carl Manneh as an independent video game developer. Its original name was Mojang Specifications until becoming a limited liability company in October 2010 under the name “Mojang AB”. Prior to Minecraft, Mojang developed Wurm Online, and has existed since 2003.
