Starch and Glycogen, both are made of glucose, in fact are polymers of glucose.
Starch- Starch is stored in plants as a food reserve. Starch is present in two forms- Amylose- which is a linear chain of glucose and Amylopectin is a branched chain polymer of glucose.
Glycogen- Glycogen is found in animals and is stored in the liver, it is made up of monomer units α-D-Glucose. Glycogen chain is similar to amylopectin found in starch but with more branches. These branches are broken through condensation reaction whenever animal require energy.
